Be wary of "Cheap and Cheerful" fire risk assessments offered by some companies. If the price you are quoted for your assessment seems too good to be true, then it probably is! A comprehensive and compliant fire risk assessment  is far more than just getting a pro-forma document to “tick a box”.

A professional fire risk assessment is not cheap, and we appreciate it is an investment. You are paying for the time, knowledge and experience of a highly qualified consultant who will protect the lives of people in your building, help prevent fires starting, and ensure you comply with the law. Rather than asking, "How much will a fire risk assessment cost me?", perhaps it is better to ask, "What could it cost me if I don't have a fire risk assessment?"

Cheap and cheerful assessments cannot do full justice to your building and there is a high probability that potential hazards can get missed. As a consequence of the correct action not being taken, it’s possible that it could lead to a fire and people could be injured … or worse!

Thorough and Comprehensive

A Fire Safety Consultant will spend as long as it takes at your premises to ensure our inspection has been thorough and we have done all we can to identify all your fire hazards and who is at risk. No one knows your building better than you, so we will spend time with you discussing the control measures that already apply in your building and how the premises is used so that we can better evaluate the level of risk.

A Holistic Approach

The word holistic is over-used today, but there is no better way to describe the way that Dragon Fire Safety will conduct your fire risk assessment. Unless your building is a brand new construction, it is almost certain that it wall fall short of the current standards for construction and fire safety equipment. The older the building, the more likely this is. We will always evaluate these shortcomings in light of other compensatory features that could exist. We will never over-specify passive or active fire safety equipment and will always seek out cost effective solutions, fully justifying our assessment in your report. We do not supply fire safety equipment, so we can provide you with impartial and independent advice.

Industry Standard Report + Competence

Our Fire Safety Risk Assessment Reports are based on the industry standard PAS79-2012 methodology, published by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and endorsed by leading fire protection organisations. But a form is just a form unless it is backed up by technical competence and sound professional  judgement. Dragon Fire Safety can provide you with this and our reports always state the technical and professional competency of the consultant undertaking the assessment.

Ongoing Support

Receiving your Fire Risk Assessment Report is not the end of our business partnership ... it is just the beginning. We will spend time with you to explain the contents and answer all your questions so that you are clear about what you need to do to reach a satisfactory level of compliance. As our customer, you can always call us or email us with any fire safety matter that may be of concern to you in the following 12 months. If you need help liaising with the Fire Authority, we can do that for you - we speak the same language!

We will even remind you when your Assessment is due for review.
